Playa Noir is a social club in the Mexican Caribbean that was created by Jasmine McNeil to bring black and brown people together in the Rivera Maya area. Since it's inception just four months ago, Playa Noir has hosted Yacht & Cenote Tours, Sunday Brunch Celebrations and most recently a networking event for business women in Playa del Carmen. Jasmine is a Flyy Girl because she is creative, has a brilliant business mind and an even bigger heart. Check out the post below to learn more about Jasmine and her company, Playa Noir!
Playa Noir is a social club in the Mexican Caribbean. I started it 4 months ago and we primarily service the Playa del Carmen and Tulum areas. My purpose for starting Playa Noir was to bring Black and brown people together! I wanted to create a space where we could network and build strong bonds with one another. My hope was that people share stories, perspectives, and knowledge with one another while forming friendships and business partnerships. I am humbled to say this is the direction Playa Noir is actively going in and it makes me feel amazing to see my vision come alive.
I have been an entrepreneur for over 5 years now. I have started several businesses along the way. I’ve always been one to spark up a new idea or business venture. Doing that in Mexico was no different – I found a lack, found my interest in that lack, and Playa Noir was born!
For the 80s 90s yacht, I wanted to bring like-minded individuals together and enjoy the music we all know and love. I’m a huge fan of themed-parties so I could think of nothing better than the ’80s and ’90s themed yacht party. It was an amazing time. The attendees had nothing but great things to say about their experience. Many even went as far as to say their expense with the Playa Noir yacht party was the highlight of their visit. It’s moments like these that make me enjoy what I do – creating lifetime experiences for good people in a space with nothing but good vibes.
What sets Playa Noir apart is we are community-focused, first. Playa Noir is more than just an event resource for tourists, we are sincerely like a family. When you come to a Playa Noir event, no matter where in the world you are from, you feel like you’re with cousins – you feel like you’re with family.
Here in Playa, there is so much opportunity for the black and brown community. I want to build Playa Noir up to provide a positive platform for people to interact with each other, promote themselves as business owners, and build toward a healthy community where we support each other.
There are so many to choose from but if I had to choose one, it would be my yacht party a few months ago. We were able to give a cruise experience to 60 attendees (Yes, we practiced social distancing). Experiencing that many black and brown people together, having nothing but a great time, was truly a sight to see.
